Larry Wilson, ASID, IIDA
Larry Wilson received his Bachelor of Design Degree, in interior design, from the College of Architecture, University of Florida. After practicing in Houston, Washington, DC and New York City, He now splits his time between offices in Santa Fe and Florida.
Mr. Wilson has completed projects in New York, Miami, Chicago, California, Colorado, North Carolina and the Bahamas. He has been honored with the prestigious Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design. He has been published in international, national & regional magazines, including Hospitality Design, Lighting Design & Application, Lodging, Interior Design, Architectural Digest (Spanish edition), Florida Architecture, Florida Design, Florida Home and Garden, and Florida Caribbean Architect, as well as in the books, Stories of the Year, Successful Restaurant Design, Hospitality & Restaurant Design, Color Planning: An Integrated Approach to Designed Spaces and The Business of Interior Design: Case Studies of Practice.
Mr. Wilson was given the Bud Merle Foundation Award for leadership and Design Excellence, honored as the Alumni of Distinction at the University of Florida, College of Design, Construction & Planning. He was awarded the ASID Medalist Award, the highest honor bestowed by ASID for outstanding service & contributions to the chapter. He is NCIDQ certified.
Wilson has served on several advisory boards, including the Interior Design Department, College of Design, Construction & Planning at the University of Florida and the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville. He has been Chair to the Mayor’s Committee on Art in Public Places. He has served a Trustee on the Board of the Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art. He currently serves on the Jacksonville International Airport Arts Commission. He has been a national spokesperson for ASID related to hospitality and lighting design.
